Although most buildings are incomplete without furniture, inappropriate furniture compromises their integrity

Spatial Engineering

Spatial Engineering

To enhance the efficiency and flexibility of any space, it is essential to choose furniture that is both fit for purpose and an appropriate addition to the architectural context in which it is used.

Here, we worked closely with London’s Highgate School and Clague Architects to design library furniture which would allow the students to make the most of the space, their studies and their time by understanding their needs. The resulting library can be transformed from study area to assembly room to exhibition space in minutes, as illustrated here.

Spatial engineering helps clients achieve this sometimes difficult balance – by creating a bespoke solution that helps a business make better use of its boardroom, perhaps, or by installing our ‘stacking’ pews in a cathedral in order to increase its flexibility.
