SPA FURNITURE DESIGNER

Company background

Luke Hughes and Company collaborates with the world's leading architects to design furniture for outstanding architectural interiors and high-profile client-facing areas in a wide variety of settings. Over the last 10 years we have developed an international reputation designing and making spa furniture to the highest standards for more than 50 hotels worldwide and are now regarded as the market leader in the relaxation areas of spas. We use a combination of traditional and modern materials with the latest technologies to create bespoke furniture solutions specifically tailored for the spa settings.

The friendly design, sales and production teams are based in our Covent Garden studio.

Position:

We are currently looking to employ a designer with a minimum of 5 years industry experience to develop designs for spa furniture of the highest quality from concept designs through to manufacture, to project manage the subsequent orders and to value engineer existing ranges. The role will involve working on all aspects of the design process, product development, research and liaison with manufacturers through to final manufacturing drawings. The successful candidate must show outstanding technical competence and knowledge of the draughtsmanship required for manufacture. We are seeking a well-presented and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about furniture design and keen to join a pioneering team at the forefront of spa design.

Required skills and attributes:

  • Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks/Ashlar Vellum/AutoCAD
  • Good design degree
  • Experience of project management
  • Highly organised and self motivated
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to design in a range of materials - specifically wood, metal, glass and stone
  • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and manufacturing processes
  • Accustomed to dealing with manufacturers and specifiers
Salary will be dependent on experience.
