Position:
We are seeking a degree-calibre technical furniture designer with solid experience of bespoke furniture design and manufacture. The ideal candidate will have completed a relevant degree and have a minimum of five years’ experience. Candidates with substantial relevant work experience will also be considered. A thorough understanding of furniture construction methods in both traditional and modern materials is required to generate detailed manufacturing drawings to the highest standards. The successful candidate must show outstanding technical competence and knowledge of the draughtsmanship required for manufacture. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about furniture design and keen to enjoy the considerable variety of work in our studio.
Required skills and attributes:
• Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks/Ashlar Vellum (Graphite)/AutoCAD
• Excellent draughting skills and attention to detail
• Highly organised and self motivated
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to design in a range of materials - specifically wood, metal, glass and stone
• Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and manufacturing processes
• Accustomed to dealing with manufacturers and specifiers.
Salary will be dependent on experience.
