Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad Vincula, Tower of London

ecclesiastical

Commissioned in early 2014, Luke Hughes spent an exciting six months working on the iconic Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad Vincula at the Tower of London. The site, which sees 100,000 visitors a month, has this year undergone a period of restoration including new lighting and a renovation of its historic organ, parts of which date back to 1699.

The reseating of the chapel by Luke Hughes will include new bespoke chairs, liturgical furniture, choir stalls and altar. All of the new furniture has been designed and crafted in England from the same English oak used to create the Tower’s new drawbridge, installed in early 2014.

With the chapel’s restoration now complete, here are some glimpses of the furniture being crafted, installed and enjoyed.
