Oundle School appointed Luke Hughes® to redesign the interior of their library. The building, a former gymnasium, was originally built in the 1930s and converted into a library in the 1980s in a somewhat rudimentary style. The aim of the refurbishment was to allow the library to support changing styles of teaching and learning, with areas for quiet study, spaces for individual and group work, and rooms for instruction. The plans significantly increased shelf capacity, reader spaces and computer workstations and also featured improved lighting and a better display of the school's collection of rare books, valuable Greek pots and archive material.
