Yale School of Management

academic

In 2013, Luke Hughes worked with Yale University to develop designs for the public seating area within the new Foster + Partners designed Edward P. Evans Hall, part of the Yale School of Management. Opened at the beginning of 2014, it is the second major British build for the Ivy League institution after Hopkins Architects’ Kroon School of Forestry.

Comprising sweeping, leather-upholstered interior benches, Luke Hughes were commissioned to realise original designs by the architect, considering the needs of the user, building and environment.

The hand-stitched, leather upholstered design featured a precision made steel frame concealing floor-mounted ventilation vents. Our British craftsmen compactly finalised the design to allow a quick and simple installation by our American partners.
