Product Description

The Presiders chair was first designed for both Park Avenue Synagogue as an adaptation of the Jesuit chair. Its stately design offers the comfort of a fully upholstered back for long high and holy day services without losing the subtle integrity and solidity of the architectural aesthetic of the frame.

The Presiders chair forms the primary liturgical bimah seating at Park Avenue Synagogue and Sutton Place Synagogue in New York but is equally at home in Christian places of worship.

As a bimah seat, custom book storage cubbies can be ordered to match the timber and finish of the Presiders chair, offering chair-side storage for prayer books, hymn books and orders of service.

Like all our chairs, the Presiders chair is engineered for a 30-50+ year lifespan. All our chairs are also designed to be refurbished, helping to ensure that they can pass from generation to generation for decades. This all helps to ensure that carbon remains locked up for as long as possible.

Technical Specifications
