One of our most comfortable chairs, the Folio readers chair also works well as a seminar, meeting chair or dining chair. Over time the Folio library chair has been constantly refined, re-imagined and re-engineered since its debut.
Originally designed as an armchair for the Folio Society, the Folio readers chair has gone on to reside in many fine buildings including the Royal Opera House, the Institute of International Affairs and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, the MSSA Department of the Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University and The Hill School. It is equally well suited to being used as a meeting chair, and has been used for private dining and seminars at Benenden School and many others.

So durable is the Folio that we are typically undertaking its first round of refurbishment for clients after 25 years of use.
Like all our chairs, the Folio readers chair is engineered for a 30-50+ year lifespan. All our chairs are also designed to be refurbished, helping to ensure that they can pass from generation to generation for decades. This all helps to ensure that carbon remains locked up for as long as possible.
Made from European Oak of the highest quality and sourced from sustainable forests, the Folio readers chair comes with the finest Scottish leather upholstery as standard.
Alternatively, architects and designers seeking a custom library chair or meeting chair can specify any suitable commercial-grade fabric and have four standard stain colours to choose from. Custom stain, felt glides and blind embossing can also be specified to create a unique product for the end client.
The leather and fabric we supply is CAL117 rated. Clients wishing to select their own material (COM) for the Folio library chair must specify a commercial grade fabric suitable for upholstery and local fire codes.
